Actress Pooja Hegde has embarked on a cinematic adventure amidst the stunning backdrop of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for her upcoming project, tentatively titled ‘Suriya 44’. Currently, she is engrossed in filming crucial sequences for the movie, set against the picturesque locales of the archipelago.
According to sources close to the production, Pooja Hegde commenced shooting in early June and is slated to wrap up by the first week of July, dedicating a substantial portion of the schedule to this captivating island setting.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, ‘Suriya 44’ features Pooja Hegde opposite the versatile actor Suriya, alongside a talented ensemble including Jayaram, Joju George, and Karunakaran in pivotal roles.
“Pooja’s role as the female lead is integral to the film’s narrative progression, and audiences can anticipate a distinctive portrayal from her,” revealed a source familiar with the project.
The film’s musical score is crafted by renowned composer Santhosh Narayanan, celebrated for his work in critically acclaimed films like ‘Pizza’, ‘Jigarthanda’, and ‘Iraivi’, among others. Narayanan’s contribution to the soundtrack promises to complement the film’s intriguing storyline and captivating visuals.

Pooja Hegde first garnered attention with her debut in Mysskin’s Tamil superhero film ‘Mugamoodi’ opposite Jiiva in 2012. She subsequently ventured into Telugu cinema with the romantic drama ‘Oka Laila Kosam’ before making her Bollywood debut in 2016 alongside Hrithik Roshan in ‘Mohenjo Daro’.
