Tara Sutaria Reflects on Challenges of Recording First Hindi Song ‘Shaamat’ for ‘Ek Villain Returns’

Actress and singer Tara Sutaria recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she reminisced about her experience recording her debut Hindi song, ‘Shaamat’, for the 2022 action thriller film ‘Ek Villain Returns’. Known for her training in western classical and pop music spanning two decades, Tara candidly shared the difficulties she faced in adjusting her technique and sound to suit her character.

In an Instagram post accompanied by behind-the-scenes snapshots from the song’s shoot, Tara expressed her sentiments. “A little over two years ago, I recorded my first Hindi song #SHAAMAT which is at 93 MILLION views today,” she wrote, acknowledging the song’s success. “As a trained western classical and pop singer for the last 20 years, it was quite tough to navigate my technique and sound to fit and suit my character’s.”

Tara, who plays a singer in ‘Ek Villain Returns’, highlighted the challenge of adapting between English and Hindi music, noting the distinct differences in training, sound, and technique required for each genre. Despite the initial challenges, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity and the overwhelming love the song has received. “In retrospect, SO glad to have taken a leap and grateful to experience so much love toward the song,” Tara added, thanking director Mohit Suri, co-stars Arjun Kapoor, and musicians Ankit Tiwari and Badshah for their contributions.

The actress’s heartfelt post resonated deeply with her fans, who flooded the comments section with admiration and praise. One fan eagerly requested a new song, while others expressed their ongoing love for ‘Shaamat’, calling it their favorite and a constant on their playlists.

‘Shaamat’ features lyrics by Prince Dubey and music composed by Ankit Tiwari. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by T-Series and Balaji Motion Pictures, ‘Ek Villain Returns’ stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria in pivotal roles. The film serves as a sequel to the 2014 hit ‘Ek Villain’.

Apart from her musical achievements, Tara Sutaria was last seen as the lead in the survival thriller film ‘Apurva’, showcasing her versatility across various genres in the Indian film industry.
